What we ask for, and why

An email and a password, if you make an account.
Only so you can sign back in. We do not send you newsletters with it, we do not put you on a list, and we do not pass it to anyone. You can use every page here without an account at all — an account exists so a returning reader can pick up where they left off.

A prayer request, if you send one.
It asks for your name, an email address, and what you would like prayer for. The email is optional and is only used if you tick the box asking us to get back to you. If you would rather not give a name, you do not have to — write “anonymous” and it will be treated as such.

Where you were reading, if you use the Bible.
That is kept in your own browser on your own device, not on our server. Clearing your browser data clears it. Nothing about your reading is sent to us.

Giving.
Giving goes through Stripe, a payment company. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own page and are never seen by, or stored on, this website. Stripe tells us that a gift was made; it does not give us your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy covers that part.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no ad networks.
• No analytics or tracking scripts watching what you read.
• No selling, renting or trading of anything you give us. Not to anyone, not ever.
• No marketing email, because we do not send any.
• No profiles of visitors. We cannot see who you are unless you sign in or write to us.

Who else touches it

Three services keep this site running, and each holds only what it must:

• Supabase holds accounts and prayer requests.
• Stripe handles giving. Card details never reach us.
• Vercel serves the site.

Nobody else. And none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Children

This site has nothing on it for children to sign up to. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If a child has sent us something and you would like it removed, write to us and we will remove it.

How long we keep it

A prayer request is kept while it is being prayed for. An account is kept until you ask for it to be closed. Giving records are kept as long as the law requires a church to keep them, and no longer than that.

Asking us to delete something

You can ask us to delete your account, your prayer request, or anything else you have given us, at any time and for any reason. You do not have to explain why. Write to us through the contact page, and it will be done. If you have an account, you can also sign in and sign out whenever you wish.

If this changes

If we ever collect something new, this page will say so before it happens, not after.
